About Kristi Schroeder Larson
Kristi Schroeder Larson is a designer, quilter, entrepreneur and avid traveler living in Austin, Texas and is the creative behind Initial K Studio. Kristi came to quilting world quite accidentally through her work as a graphic designer in the corporate world.
This native Texan is a world traveler who draws inspiration for her designs in art, fashion, and textiles from around the globe, as well as exploring the great outdoors. Her love for design and travel has continued over the years and when not working or sewing, you’ll find Kristi actively planning her next adventure with her pup Dash and husband Darren.
Kristi is a member of the Modern Quilt Guild and has been published in Love Patchwork & Quilting, Make Modern Magazine, QuiltCon Magazine as well as being featured in D Magazine and Dallas Morning News, and Cowboys & Indians.
Kristi’s first book, Southwest Modern: From Marfa to New Mexico: 18 Travel Inspired Quilts, was released in Fall 2017 by Lucky Spool Media. Part travel guide and part quilt book, Southwest Modern is a first in the quilting industry – never before have the rich patterns, colors and landscapes of the American Southwest served as the sole inspiration behind 18 modern, graphic quilts.
