5 Ways To Increase Your Creativity
Whether you’re experiencing writer’s block or want to push yourself creatively in your career or hobby, we could all benefit from becoming more creative.
Here’s 5 ways to kickstart your creative juices.
1. Create something everyday.
By putting aside dedicated, undisturbed time to focus on your creative work, you will slowly but surely improve your skills. Don’t become demotivated if what you create at the end of a day isn’t the perfect piece, you will progress every day and will soon elevate your level of creativity.
“You can’t use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have.” – Maya Angelou
2. Work on something you’re passionate about.
If you become stuck, make sure you’re enjoying the process and get started on a passion project- this will inspire you to keep creating.
“Passion is energy. Feel the power that comes from focusing on what excites you.” – Oprah Winfrey
3. Sweat out the solutions.
Take a walk outside, go for a run, or engage in sports. It’s well known that physical activity can boost creativity and encourage new thoughts and ideas.
“Life is like riding a bicycle. In order to keep your balance, you must keep moving.” – Albert Einstein
4. Make sure your environment encourages creativity.
Having a relaxing, undisturbed space with high quality lighting can do wonders for your focus, productivity and creativity. Having a light like our Electra Floor Lamp will enable you to change the warmth and brightness to suit your mood and your needs.
“An artist’s studio should be a small space because small rooms discipline the mind and large ones distract it.”- Leonardo de Vinci
5. Find inspiration in everyday life.
Trying new things and being open to new experiences is a fun way to become more creative. Be curious- if there’s a new film, exhibition or restaurant opening that piques your interest, delve deeper and explore everything that interests you.
